OAOM held its first Addiction Support meeting last night at 6:00pm . Not that it was planned, it just happened, let me explain. I got a call from a recovering addict that needed to talk. I told this party that I’d be there at 6 for the Youth Meeting. Explaining that if I were needed, I could meet with her as Jamie was going to do the Youth Meeting anyway. This person called a friend who knew of her concern which was “Addiction Related”. With her permission I called another friend. Our first meeting consisted of 7 including me and was a success especially considering it wasn’t planned. Our little group agreed to meet every Wednesday night at 6:00pm and allow God to work.
As you know our dream is still for the “Women’s Recovery Center ” to be opened in the near future and maybe this is an early step. Please feel free to invite all you will to the meetings.
Please Note: This isn’t an AA Meeting, this is an Addiction meeting, Addictions come in all shapes and sizes. Think it over, you may just fit in.
